Solutions
Independent product development
Outa The Box Solutions turns real problems from the field into focused, useful products—designed by someone who understands the work firsthand.
About Outa The Box
Outa The Box Solutions is an independent LLC built by a trades professional, weatherization instructor, and hands-on maker. Years spent working with equipment, homes, crews, and real jobsite constraints shape every project.
We begin with practical problems—extra steps, awkward equipment, wasted time, or a task that simply needs a better tool. Then we design around the job as it is actually performed.
That work brings together 3D printing, custom electronics, mechanical design, and app-connected hardware. The goal is not novelty for its own sake. It is a solution that earns its place in the truck, shop, or workday.
Capabilities
Projects can be mechanical, electronic, digital, or a combination of all three. The method stays grounded in real use.
Functional prototypes, enclosures, mounts, training aids, and larger multi-part builds—designed around fit, heat, strength, and daily use.
Low-voltage controls, relay interfaces, wireless communication, microcontrollers, circuit protection, and custom PCB development.
Mechanical and electronic ideas turned into working prototypes, then tested and refined until the solution feels natural to use.
Work so far
The business is still growing, but the work already spans practical printed hardware, embedded electronics, training tools, and ambitious custom builds.
Fleet hardware
Designed and 3D printed roof-mounted hardware for dash cameras used in box trucks, positioned where a rearview mirror would normally sit. When cab heat exposed warping in the original PETG parts, the design process moved toward heat-resistant carbon-fiber nylon.
Electronics
Developed app-connected electronics using microcontrollers, long-range wireless modules, protected power circuits, relays, and machine-specific interfaces—with custom PCB work bringing the system together.
Custom builds
Explored trade-training mockups, purpose-built field tools, and large multi-part relief projects that combine digital design with practical decisions about printing, assembly, durability, and finish.
Our approach
A good product should solve a clear problem, be understandable without a lecture, and hold up where it is expected to work.
Ideas begin with firsthand knowledge of the task, the equipment, and the people using it.
Controls, setup, and daily use should be direct—even when the work behind the solution is complex.
Working prototypes create honest feedback. That feedback shapes the next version.
